I’d like to start combining my love for simple back pack camping and fly fishing. I’m focusing on natural populations. Just my next phase.

Anyone have good suggestions of where I could legally pack in for a night, fish the morning, and hike back out?

I live in Philly and I’m sure I’ll need to drive.

Take your pick of State Forest land. You have to set up camp at least 100' from water and 25' off trail. You also have to be 200' from a road but that should be a given if you are back packing. The North Central part of the state has tons of options.

To compliment ROVERT's suggestion:

State forest lands offer many places for backpack camping.

But camping is prohibited on state gamelands.

I would look at the mason Dixon trail , not a bad drive from Philly , and there are a bunch of diff tribs of susky to explore . I believe you can camp but I'm just going off fire sites off trail where people have . So check regs
