I encountered something similar, but not on the end of my line...
I was fishing the Monocasy one fall/winter day and saw a REALLY weird looking brown trout about 12" or so swimming around in a deep hole in front of me.
A closer look revealed that it had maybe a 6" trout, stuck halfway in its mouth head first!!
Talk about biting off more than you can chew... 😉
