Got out finally locally,Pohopoco was 54*f running clear, started fishing @ 7:00 pm not much was happening.Every once in a while a mayfly would pop off but definitely no hatch,also saw several different caddis,Black #16, medium dun winged #16,and tan#18 sporadically coming off.
Small browns were working the emergers every once in a while they would leap out of the water an catch one too.No stonefly activity.
I caught one, missed one,no appreciable size or color.Was definitely not hatchery stock fins were perfect an the red adipose was clearly evident.
Watched a Kingfisher fishing .
Just great to get out an enjoy the water for once.

Po is a great stream for those looking for a smaller tailwater, fly fishing friendly for sure, and nice wild fish.

The mighty po is a lot of fun, isn't it? Now that I work in Allentown it's a lot easier for me to get there.

sorry i was fishing the Pohopoco in Carbon, may still be Monroe...definitely below the dam a bit downstream but not in Perryville. I do however fish it to the headwaters where i have access through permission from landowners...but thats definitely above Beltzville .

I don't know the time you were fishing, but the evening is sulphurs and midges. Throughout the day I have been getting takes on caddis. The section you were fishing is Carbon.

If you like an audience and want to feel like a fly fishing celebrity, just fish at RiverWalcks. Must have had 10 different people ask me the stream name yesterday.
 
Poho is a place I'd like to get out and fish but haven't quite figured out where to access it yet. I know there are a couple of crossings and bridges near 'the mountain' and lets say, 'the PVC supply house' but I'm not even experienced enough to say its worth fishing as we get this warm in the year.

Bwhahaha, in my own mind and a small following of my disciples. They all wear the same colored Nike's and sleep in bunk beds in my underground bunker.

If you had read the post you would have read that i started @ 7:00 pm as written, an just because you had sulphurs doesnt mean they were happening on the length of stream i was fishing, i also mentioned exactly what i saw and their size..only thing i didnt include was the county.
I know my bugs an i had a net an caught what i saw.No sulphurs to any degree that would indicate a hatch.

Relax. I was just stating what I have been seeing on the Po. It was not an attack on your observations. You are right, I did miss the time you fished. My post was in no way saying you were wrong. Geez calm down pro.

years ago were talkin 10-12 years ago i used to fish the Pohopoco right where it dumped into the lehigh an up to the 248 bridge , used to see a far better sulphur hatch in that lil section than upstream where as numbers of suphers were concerned also used to get into a few bows there.do you also get bows there?
 
Once and awhile you will pick up a bow, but browns out number the brooks and bows. It's ok, I like browns the best.
 
You can win me over with mini candy bars. Seriously though. Even if I can't fish that day I can meet you and show you every access point within 30 minutes. That is us stopping and showing you a couple things. It is not a long stream.
 
Mighty nice stream for sure. Sulphur hatch has been good. I heard that it got pounded by rain today again.
 
Yes rained buckets. However, rain does not truly affect it. Dam operators do.
 
Flow is at about 200 cfs - nice! I am thinking about giving it a go tonight.
