Fished from 2:30 to 5:30 then a break, then from 7:30 to dark.
Weird day, about 3:00 a sulphur hatch started and lasted for an hour or so. Caught about 8, all stockies with the largest about 14". At 7:30 another hatch came on and after being fooled thinking it was more sulphurs I scooped up a struggling bug and realized it was a caddis of some sort. Low profile folded back wings with a fat pudgy light colored body. The closest thing I could find that matched the silhouette was a #16 Yellow Sally. Right choice, caught fish steady the last hour and a half until 9:15.
Rainbows, browns, and brook. By far the best day I've had this year. The stream is in great shape and ice cold.
