Well we had one nice day in Central PA on Saturday. On Sunday, we woke up to more rain, Penns Creek and all the other creeks in the valley were pretty much blown out. We headed up into the mountains and hit Big Poe Creek below the lake and picked up a few stocked fish in the dirty water by swinging some woolly buggers. WHEN FLOWS TRIPLE, FIND A TRICKLE!

Tiger Trout??

No, it's a color pattern that has appeared in a number of hatchery Brown Trout. As I recall, I first noticed it in a small minority of fish about five yrs ago, but now it appears to be fairly common based on the fish I saw yesterday at the Ltl Lehigh co-op nursery.

I like that saying! Then again I fish the trickles all the time. Way to make the most of the situation.

Laurel Hill Trout Farm out by Pittsburgh has a strain of browns that have a tiger-ish look about them too. Very good supplier if you need to stock some trout for a kids event.
