Wedding in extended family required a trip to PA, so two of my boys and I were able to fish a few times last week.
Pine: 55 degree water with various bug activity... mostly 16-18 tan caddis with a few October caddis, BWO, Slate Drake, sulphurs. (First afternoon at Black Walnut Bottom) Saw clouds of small caddis so we mostly stuck with those - although I was able to pin a little wild brown on an Oct caddis and hook/lose another bigger fish. Hooked/landed a 16" brown on a little tan caddis right at the end of a twitchy drift. I think one of the boys got a brown on a slate drake and the other got skunked. Next morning at Ross Run, there wasn't much bug activity and three of us saw absolutely no rises - nobody on the board. Afternoon, we closed up the camp and loaded the car before trying the stretch above the bridge (at the Manor hotel). Saw more bugs but no rises... also not a lot of what we'd call holding water. It was all just a big riffle so the boys asked if we could go somewhere else.
Little Pine: (55 degrees) On the way out of the canyon, we stopped at the clay bank across from the gun range. I missed several on a caddis or light Cahill. The boys got a couple on a small caddis or slate drake before we headed back to Harrisburg/Hershey.
Manada: (55 Degrees) In the DHALO above Furnace Road, we each got at least one brown trout... little caddis or light Cahill. Not a lot of bug activity there, but we saw some little sulphurs and caddis.
