The rain stayed away for most of the weekend and got out on Pine creek for my weekend away. I must say this creek is very humbling. I am not the best but I feel i can hold my own.
DHALO- Fished Saturday around 445-630PM. Got into a great caddis hatch but I was having trouble getting my fly out to them. The water was pretty fast at 2.8-2.9. I did manage to catch a 14 or 15 inch brown right at quitting time. I missed about 4 others.
"The stretch"- WHat a great section of the stream. Bigger water then I am used to fishing that is for sure. I asked the guy at the fly shop where would he send a newbie and he said down to Tomb Flats. I parked and went up into the fast water. Only managed to land one small rainbow but had 4 nice brownies on before they spit my wooly Bugger.
All in all a fun trip. Would have been nice to catch some more fish but i think the stream was a little high for my liking and would have done better with more time.
