Potter Co
Time Fished: 1245pm - 145pm
Weather Conditions: 68 degrees sunny
Water Conditions: 48 degrees, clear,
Insects: a few stoneflies

Several of us tried a piece of water that was a favorite of Maxima12 about 15 years ago. The stretch doesn’t seem to be on the stocking list. I fished a stimulator upstream and had 1 take (about an 8” wild brown). No one else brought up a fish.

Tioga Co
Time Fished: 315pm - 4pm
Weather Conditions: 70 degrees, sunny
Water Conditions: 51 degrees, clear,
Insects: golden stones were hatching regularly

We pulled into a good area and chose to eat a little and watch a couple folks fishing bait in a deep hole. They caught several rainbows and released them. I decided to swing 3 wets through a few riffles and never had a strike.

Maxima12 caught 4 rainbows

A guy in our group saw a mink catch a trout and carry it off.

i'm on pine every day haven't seen one golden stone
These ones are medium size and a pale yellow (see the photos on my kettle creek post). They come to the shore and pop out of the case there then raise up a few feet from the waters edge from the grass. If you are fishing they will be lifting off behind you. We ate lunch 3-4 miles downstream from Galeton. That’s where I saw them.

If you were fishing with Maxima, were you using one of his leaders?
Yes. You can’t fish with Maxima without using one of his leaders and he gives out 1 or more to everyone he meets on the creek. Very generous guy. One group was a grandfather (70-80 years of age), his daughter and granddaughter. I think they got about 10 (the mom and daughter immeadiately put them on).
