Fished Pine at the DHALO from the mouth of Slate Run down stream about 2miles.

Weather: Mostly Sunny 70 to 80 F.
Wind: Light

Water Level: Low and clear.
Water Temp: 64 to 74 F.

Hatches: Caddis , Caddis, Caddis, all day all night. Night caddis hatch imitation Size 8 a BIG fly.

Hook ups were few and far between, lots of fall fish , creek chubs call them what u will, some bass, few trout.

Although the area was stocked I feel the Trout were sluggish due to high water temps.

Saw Eagles, Osprey with a fish in talons ,and otters, deer and turkey back at camp.

I was there that day too. I was not fishing, but showing my wife and daughter the beauty of the area, and ate lunch on the porch of the manor hotel with some good friends. Had a pleasant surprise when I ran into a friend at the tackle shop that I haven't seen in a year. What a beautiful day it was for October, nice and warm.

Where & when did you get 74 deg water temps?

recorded 74 degree water temp Oct 5 down in the clearing off Yoder Lane in fact the air temp and water temp were the same

Pa's warmwater streams are still warm for this time of the year, but cooling will come fast with low flow and cold nights or with the next substantial cool weather rainy day as long as there is enough rainfall to make stream flows increase substantially. Pine throughout the vast majority of its length is a warmwater stream.

I'm not surprised at the 74 degree reading up there on sunday - it hit 85 degrees air temp here in the burgh that day, and was very humid.

Fished Pine Creek this past weekend below Slate Run. Water was 60 º. Lots of caddis flying up stream. A few light colored mayflies. I'll say I've had better days on the Pine. Talked to other fisherman and no one was having much success. At least the sceneary was good. Slate Run was low also.
