I fished Pine below Slate Run on Friday mid-morning through early afternoon. The water temp was 59 degrees. There were a lot of fisherman out. I couldn't believe how many, actually. I walked a while to find some water with risers and without (many) fishermen. There were a fair number of caddis on the water with a small sampling of mayflies. I fished an elk hair with a sulphur emerger dropper. The emerger was the ticket. I netted 6-7 browns and lost/missed quite a few. The first two fish I caught were suckers, which was discouraging but the fat browns that followed made for a great morning.

I had to be back in English Center by 7:00 so I headed to Little Pine for the afternoon. The flows were low. I picked up a rainbow and a couple of browns. Nice big March Browns were coming off but the fish were fussy. I imagine things would have picked up a bit if I could have stayed later.

Nice pics. I love that stretch of water below Slate. Beautiful out there

ROVERT -that stream photo is really nice. Love the contrast of the green mountains against the dark sky.

Thanks, it is definitely a beautiful area. I've driven 414 a number of times but this was the first time I've fished that section of Pine. I fished the Owassie Rd. section quite a bit a little over a decade ago. I never saw anywhere near the number of anglers there.
