Decided to check out Pine Creek after work yesterday. It was hot out, but the temp was cooling when I arrived around 6pm. My car's reading was 75. Water temp was in the mid 60s. I parked at the bottom of the DHALO section by the bridge on Mt Royal Blvd. Worked my way upstream slowly, I was using a fb hares ear sz14 w a copper john sz16 behind it. I wasn't having much luck, as I got closer to behind Pine Creek Golf center. I fished a nice bend that I've had success with in the past and it prodcued a few hold over browns. All fish were caught on the copper john. I only fished for around 1.5 hrs and didn't head any further upstream. Didn't feel like dodging golf balls haha. It's tough for me to get out during the week with my work schedule and living in Pittsburgh. This is one of the only creeks that I am aware of that you can consistently catch trout within 20 min of downtown.
