Fished Pine Creek area for the first time. Beautiful scenery abounds there. The river is quite big and is difficult to wade and cross in many areas. Looks like a western river.
The water in Pine dropped quite a bit while I was there which I think helped the fishing. The temps of the water warmed into the low to mid 50's. There was decent bug activity for some steady risers but certainly not any heavy hatches. Caddis,stoneflies and hendricksons.
Caught some German Browns that were nice and some average sized stocker rainbows. Not sure if anyone broke double digits or not but enough activity to keep you going.
Little Pine is very beautiful as well. Dropping water levels and increased water temps helped the fishing. Some stoneflies and caddis were sporadic thru the day. Not much in the way of rising fish but saw one steady riser.
The Hotel Manor is open as well as Slate Run tackle shop. Fun trip and conditions should continue to improve. Gonna need some more rain soon. I heard there was a small forest fire about 10 miles up river. 15 acres
