Is anyone else having this issue? When I attach a picture I take from my Samsung Galaxy it loads it sideways on the site. If I edit it in any way, slight cropping etc. it then will load straight.

I did have that issue a couple times. I'd post two pics (iPhone 8) and one of the two would show up sideways. I had it happen on my Bowhunting site also, so not PAFF specific. One of life's unanswered questions. 😉

I am basically clueless because I never take photos with my phone...
However, when my wife sends me images taken with her phone (iPhone something or other) it sometimes happens.
Without investigation, I have a feeling it has to do with your phone orientation when you take the picture. It would be an easy enough theory to debunk.

Definitely not the case, I tried a few things to prove that out. Ive been posting pictures from this phone on this site for almost 3 years and it was never an issue until yesterday.

A shot in the dark: I'm assuming the photos are oriented correctly on your device. Would it make a difference if you rotated the image 360°, resaved, and then tried to post?
I guess I'm wondering if some orientation file data is getting lost in translation and could be fixed by resaving.

Seems to only happen with photos taken in portrait mode.

I agree. This just very recently started happening to me. Regarding phone orientation, there's always the option to edit/rotate, but that hasn't made any difference for me when posting certain pics.
Even though the pic is properly oriented in my collection, it will sometimes show up sideways when I post it.

The Portrait Mode isn't available on my standard iPhone 8, only iPhone 8 Plus. So, that's not the answer in my case. Again, this is a recent happening for me.

I just made that adjustment on my phone. I'll see if it makes the difference in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.

So I took this picture at last years jam and I know I posted it on the board around that time. I changed nothing about it and now it loads sideways.

I found that I have to crop a pic before uploading and it will not upload rotated.

Yes that works for me too but I never had to do that before. Something changed.
Do you know where it might be that it oriented correctly?
I'm have trouble offering a fix for rotating images once they are in the site. Even harder is finding out what has changed to cause this problem.

Fixed - Image attachments rotated since the update
Yesterday, I installed the latest update, V2.3.7. When attachments are uploaded to posts or the gallery, they are either rotated 90°, 180°, or sometimes not rotated at all. This problem did not occur before the update.
