Pickering Creek, Chester County, 2/27/11

I'm new to this forum. I really like the tone and lots of good info posted.
I fished Pickering creek this morning for about two hours. I haven't fished it in years because I used to see so many spinning fishermen.
I thought I would get out early and give it a shot.
As soon as I arrived,9:30, there were lots of midges coming off the water. I tried 4 different tandem rigs and had a great day-for me. I caught 5 browns and 2 rainbow all on a size 20 brassie fished deep. Not one fish on any of the other flies.

Great day to be out. I stopped by there today as well about 12 noon to 1:15 They were very active hitting hard. I had similar success getting about two dozen on size 18 black cj. There were stoneflies coming off pretty regularly during that time. Gave up fishing after i dropped the tip section of my rod off the bridge and watched it float down stream. FML

Short, very fast action rods are supposed to be hot for brookie fishin', no?

Unfornuately i didint have my waders with me, i was fishing from the bank as i only stopped by for like an hour.

I dropped it in at the rr bridge and it floated down halfway to the little rock dam thing and sunk under there. I stopped by today after work with my waders and waded the area in there down to the bend with the fallen tree looking along the bank but diidnt spot it. I dropped it in on the day before we just got that rain. Thanks guys
