Tried Pickering Creek for the first time today. Parked right by where the pin is on the paflyfish google map. Got there around 9am. The water level seemed good, and it was clear except for the leaves. The water temp was in the low 60's. The atmosphere was about 74 and sunny. I got a pair of rainbows on a size 16 tan caddis, and took a picture for a guy that got a real nice rainbow with a nymph (I didn't ask what kind).

Went out on Saturday morning also, but around 7am. Fished by the foot bridge. Did not see as many stockies as I have seen in the past, but the ones i did see had some good size to them. Caught this one on a Black BH hares ear nymph.

Pike - Nice Bow. Not to derail, but I really like those original Redington Crosswaters (like yours, navy blue blank)...they're still a good rod for the price now (lighter blue blank) but the components don't seem quite as nice as the old ones IMO.

Glad to see that you're enjoying Pickering. Did you see any other anglers?

Swattie87- this is my first fly rod set up. I do like it, for the price it has been great. I got mine from French Creek Outfitters, they did not have one of the all in one kits at the time so the guy put it together for the same price. The reel, I was told was an upgrade from the one that comes in the set.

Mike- There were 2-3 guys up stream by the hole in the fence. One Guy came shortly after me, and went down from the bridge to the fallen down tree.

May try to get out there this weekend as well...it time allows.
