Pickering Creek 10/3/10

Hey all, managed to sneak out to Pickering today, about 15 minutes in I picked up this little Smallmouth bass on a white rooster tail. Shortly after this picture, my iphone took a dive to the bottom of the creek so my day was cut short drying it out over the heater vent in my truck on the way home.....................

Didnt hook any of the stocked trout, if I had more time maybe. Cheers. 😳

What time were you out? And the heater vent was a bad idea. It could fry the electronics. My believe the best advice is to pull the battery, try to shake most of the water out then get it in a big cup of white rice to soak the moisture up for a few days, good luck!

Got there around 3pm, was done by 4. Fished below State rd.

As soon as i got home i took the phone apart and let it air out, so far so good (fingers crossed). Thanks for the advice though, i feel it wont be the last time i dump it in the creek.

It's really a great idea to put the phone into a desiccant like rice or damp rid. I would highly suggest getting a dry bag for it if you plan on repeatedly exposing it to water. You will be lucky to save it from one exposure, much less repeated. Maybe you would be one of those few candidates for phone insurance.

about the Iphone: Go to Michael's craft store and buy a small container of Silica Gel. Put the iphone in a regular sock. Pour half the silica gel in a plastic container. Put the sock with the iphone in the plastic container and pour the the rest of the silica gel on top of the sock. Leave this sit for a couple of days. This works really well. I have two teen-aged boys and they both have dropped their Iphones in the toilet. I used the silica gel and it worked on both of them.
