Pickering and French 3-14

Perfect freaking day, sun shining, blue skies, little warmth in the air. Started at pickering first, getting them on scuds. Then moved to al's rats and got 2 of the 5 at 20 inches. Went up stream and got 2 then went over to french. Tons of fly fisherman, caught one nice one by the tree hole and a couple chubs by the guardrail ripples. Also got bored and took some bug shots found under rocks. Anyone know what all 3 are? I know a black stone, a golden stone? and a may fly?

How big were they?..they all look like stoneflies.

THey were pretty big, like size 12-14. And even this one tom?

12-14 is not that big...for this time if year, maybe but the stone flies on the Sinnemahoning we see in teh summer are more like 6s and 8s...Did you try any of those stone patterns you tied before?

Nice photos. Yeah, some good size fish at both locations. I got a monster of a fish last week at Pickering.

Yea, unless i wasnt fishing at the right spots it seemed that french diditn have many fish. I only seen one, caught one, and seen 2 other fisherman catch 2 each in the riffles by the guard rail. Although thats the only spots i know of, i never fished all the way down stream under the covered bridge where i seen a few fisherman.

I caught 4 up by Shreeder road Wednesday night last week. It was tough this morning down in the other section of French Creek. Only managed a chub for about 1.5 hours of fishing.
