Pflueger refresh

All right!!
Ive finished cleaning up both of the old pflueger reels and there ready to go.
I went with Cortland 444 WF floating Peach on both. Dad would be so happy!

Va va va voom! Both my Medalists are in possession of my son - he ain’t giving them back 😂- one has the palming rim counterbalanced “Shakespeare” era spool with pink backing exactly as your photo - it is spooled with a Euro rig and balances perfectly on his 10.5” 3wt - the other is spooled with OLD 20# Gudebrod green dot Dacron backing and a 444 SL WF5F used on an older Cabela’s stowaway 586 rod - that rig will throw the whole fly line with little effort - it warms my heart that some vintage USA made working man reels just always stand the test of time and are actually heirloom quality - “”Hardy who?” Use them well and post fish pix with them frequently - I’m out of Medalists in my quiver but won’t part with my Sal-Trouts (from my Dad) yet! Pflueger FTW!
