Perry County-The Sequel

Ok...I think this is turning into some uncurable disease. Granted, I have a ton of work to do-law school isn't easy but you have to get your priorities straight. Since the Oakland Raiders are 2-7, I figured I would just catch up on my work then rather than watch the game. Weather was really crappy-cold and windy with flurries. There is probably a causal connection between yesterday's weather and how I feel today. I headed back over to Perry County in the afternoon and fished practically to dark. The particualr stream I chose to fish requires a long hike. There is only one access point and the gradient is very low here. However, after hoofing it for about 2.5 miles, the stream's character changes dramatically. Every time I fish here, I am reminded of Hickory Run in HRSP or some stream in Shenandoah NP. Lots of plunge pools and nice sized boulders. I figured if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I stuck with the beadhead rootbeer eztaz bugger and proceeded to flip it in every likely place where I thought there would be a customer. For the most part, I caught a fish out of every pool except for the pools that harbored little 4-5" runts. On average, the fish ran about 7-10" and their color was simply amazing. Just before packing it in for the day, I caught this last one who practically glowed. I figured this guy met the stringent criteria for snapping his mug and sharing it with all of you. Gee, I've never heard that before...BTW every case I've ever seen is incurable for sure.
