I disagree about that trout being streambred. It has the telltale orange "red" spots of a typical stocked brown and when you blow up the picture you can tell the fins are worn.
 
I catch tons of little browns like that up in the perky toward hereford so I don't see why they couldn't move down that far. I'll default to others knowledge of stocked or not though as I'm new.






Here's an interesting discussion that I'm not even sure belongs here.

Anyone local to this stream in the upper reaches heard anything in the way of major development plans??? Landowner of the trailer parks is gobbling up land in that area and we're wondering if they are gonna put on a big build soon possibly affecting the health of the stream in some way????

They bought the kriebel farm on kriebel road just this spring and evicted my buddy who lives amongst the fields just above the stream, they haven't evicted his neighbor yet but did tell them there is a possibility they will close kriebel road completely for some time.

Any body else hearing any chatter about this?? Bit of a long shot I know but that has been a favorite local stream of mine for some time and I wonder what might come of it if a big build goes down up there soon.
 
Fished the FFO on monday with my brother, was the first time we decided to head downstream where it dumps into res, landed ten smallies with a beadheaded white wooly bugger, my brother landed three, next time i do this i will be sure to bring my 7wt bass rod and toss some poppers. Its always excites me fishing the perky, you may never see any spectacular hatches but you are always going to find a variety of species to catch. That to me is enough to keep my interest in coming back.
 
Paskiing; Check with the Township and see if there is a Land Development plan being considered by the Planning Comm..

Yo Matt, try the perky up toward hereford a little more, I'll get you and your brother on it up there. Two weeks ago the sulphurs were so thick I could hardly walk through em and the water was boiling with top action.
 
Sounds good, I would love to try the upper part of the perky I have never fished it before, you should come with us sometime for smallmouth.
 
I'm game. I fished ponds all last year with poppers and didn't even target trout. This year its been mostly drys for trout. That's about to change though. I'm in the middle of PMing a guy on here trying to get a 4/5 weight for bassin. I broke/lost two rods this year so far and all I have right now is a 6'6" 3 weight or so. I've thrown a popper or two with it already but it's a bit of a pain ha.

Tell your brother to hit me up next time you two are going out man, he's got my number. I'll try and secure that rod in the meantime.
 
Walked to the headwaters of the main branch yesterday. Its right behind my house actually. Super thick and swampy woods. It's maybe 3 feet wide up there by huffs church.

No trout to speak of but the chubs were hittin the surface ha. Caught more than a few in the 2 to 3 inch range. Got to practice the bow and arrow cast with the yellow eagle claw though 🙂

Gonna explore a little more today if the weather holds off.
