Was out from 11:00 till 2. Caught 1 Rainbow 11 inches on a black wully bugger. I said it before but I really do think this stream is getting better. I was actully surpirised I caught it I was just out practicing casting, and I didn't think there would be anything left in there since the last time they stocked was early October.

As far as I remember, we had a cool fall. There isn't much reason why the fall stockers wouldn't hold over. It's cool that you got out there despite doubts of fish being there. They surprise you sometimes.

Hi,

I don't know Pennypack. Where is a good place to try? Where it runs along parallel to the Turnpike, or to the south towards Paper Mills and Huntingdon Valley?

Brian

Brian, the best place to try is in a section called Lorimer Park. There is a large parking lot across from fox chase farms. This is the best place to catch trout in the creek. Mont county TU has done a lot of work in this area and trout tend to holdover in the section very well even during the summer (very surprising cause this stream gets quite warm in the summer) Gets extremely crowded though as most streams due around opening day. PM if you want more info.

i grew up fishing there, yet haven't since the improvements.

my parents and three sisters all have houses within walking distance of the penny pack.

how's the area around rhawn street lately?

Rhawn street is ok. Alot of people around this area but I have caught trout there in late July. The dam was knocked down there about 2 years ago and has greatly improved streamflow although it could get better if they remove the dam at the blvd and further upstream at veree. One of the best places to fish in the spring is rhawn as well as veree.

thanks mike, how about around krewstown road?

if i remember right that was always a little different than the rhawn street area.

Krewstown is pretty good. You can catch trout above and below the dam there (actually on verree road). I usually have better luck below the dam before the overpass. Your best bet though is Lorimer Park not too far from Krewstown. They stock that area heavily and usually has alot more holdovers.
