Penns Creek, Centre/Mifflin? Co, 3/7/2010

Penns was on the low side, moderately clear. Temp above Elk/Pine confluence was 39 at about 9:30 AM. Skies clear as glass all day, air temps peaked probably around the low to mid 40s. Throughout the day, very few midges were seen and nothing else. I did not see a rise all day, but I'm sure there were a couple that escaped my attention.

Nymphing and streamer fishing is not my bag, but I tried hard all day and came up empty until just before dark.

I met some others from the board who caught some fish also, but no one lit the world on fire.

It's being released left handed. That narrows it down to about 4 people, and there is entirely too much youth in that hand to be LJ's. :-D I figured that was identification enough.

I am reluctant to post pictures of others on my stream reports in case they told their wives they were somewhere else. 😎 Yes, it is Jay's hand and his fish. The picture was much larger, but I cropped down to just the fish dipping into the water. Jay knew whose fish it was.

So you cropped out Jay's face and body and included it in your report. Yeah, Jay knew whose fish it was, but no one else did! I was about to give YOU credit and an "atta boy" for catching such a nice fish on Penns in tough conditions.

I'm okay with it, honestly. I really don't think jack meant any deception, and I appreciate his not posting a picture of my face without my permission. Jack actually mentioned that the original intent of the photograph was to get a picture like the one above.

I'll take my atta boy now! :lol:

I'll add that I caught one larger fish on an afishinado "special", and lost a real nice one on a size 2 bugger.

tom, all my fish pictures are taken at the end of my outstretch hand. I was purposely vague, though, because the one trout I did catch broke away as I was fumbling with the camera. I needed that photo, too, to prove that I didn't get skunked, but now you'll just have to decide whether you can believe my uncorroborated declaration.

Thanks JayL and Jack...you just made a little girl's day. I showed her and told her just now. Her mouth hung open in disbelief, then she smiled and asked to tie some more. :-D

Glad to see many of us are getting out there. I caught decent fish on BWO dries this week. It's been a long winter!
