I had about 1 1/2 hours on Penns on Monday evening. It was HIGH, as high as I ever fished it. However, it has been so high for so long, it was relatively clear for Penns. Fished above the upper RR bridge and saw the missing willow tree in it' new temporary home, lodged at the head of the next run downstream. I would have liked to have seen that happening!
A young man from Sate College was waiting for something to happen on top, but left by 7:30. He and I both figured that if something was going to happen, it would have happened by then. After all, it was cloudy. The bugs should have popped. Nothing happened until 8:15. Within 3 minuets, there were several trout rising. I landed 5 in about 20 minuets, only one was a nice size, about 12 inches. When I waded out of the water, it was COVERED with sz. 16 sulfurs. One ever 6 inches. Amazing. This from absolutely no activity at all.
