My brother's and I headed up to Penn's Creek yesterday. We arrived at the stream around 10:00am and headed to the middle of the Catch and Release section. The chilly air and light rain created one heck of an atmosphere for bugs to hatch. Grannom's, Quill Gordon's, Hendrickson's, BWO's and Blue Quills hatched in tremendous numbers till 5pm. The stream was not boiling with risers but there were plenty to give us one of the best day's of dry-fly fishing in years on this stream. Posted the pictures on the blog.

Thanks Grobe. Heading up there Thursday for the weekend. Hope for similar success.

Great post....you caught more fish in one afternoon than I ever have!

Very nice blog....Looks like you had a great time. Heading up that way this Friday

When you catch on Penns, it is magical. Not my favorite stream of all, but one of the tops, despite the tough days I've spent there. When water levels and clarity are in the perfect range, I know of no other trout stream so perfectly designed by God or nature to delight the fly angler, and the dry fly angler in particular. "I want her, I need her, I gotta be near her-- oooooh, I got a strange kind of woman, yeah!"

I totally agree there is something magical about Penn's Creek when you hit it right. I think for most of us that can only fish it a few times of year the chances of hitting it just right are slim making day's like that one all the more memorable.
