Fished Penns below Ingelby on Monday. Got on the water at 8:00 AM, air temp was 27 and water temp was 45. Just like Middle Creek the day before I hooked what I thought would be a nice brown only to land another large whitefish. Then I caught several smallies, about 10”. All on BHGRHE. I have never caught smallmouth this far up Penns before. Is it just me or is the creek changing?

After an hour of slow activity I decided to walk the bank to see what happened to the trout. Found that they were all laying much further down the current seams than I was expecting. Also saw quite a few smallies. Some trout looked to be pairing up but not in the “classic” spawning areas.
