Fished about 3 miles downstream from Oswayo yesterday. Water temp was about 58. Sulfurs coming off in good numbers toward 6:00PM followed by a swarm of spinners closer to dark. Despite the good numbers of bugs on the water, however, we only picked up a couple of fish, all wild browns, all on the small side. It was one of those inexplicable nights when it seems that everything is coming together perfectly but the fish decide not to show!
We also fished the Allegheny. Lots of stockers and lots of green drakes and yellow stones. Water was around 62. Fast action most of the day, but it wasn't wild browns! That was 5 miles above Coudersport. If you go to Potter county in the next couple of days:
Yellow Sally stones in 16, your favorite Green Drake (we had good luck with the Quigley Cripple), and Sulfurs (I like the compara duns) size 14 and 16.
First Fork is bug soup! Tan caddis, yellow sally, green drake, yellow drake, looks like a red quill maybe?, sulfurs, the start of a new hatch of 18 bwo's and even a pretty good supply of 3/4 inch hoppers. Really great dry fly fishing on the project water!

That's it! Thanks for watching!
