Fished Oil Creek from 6:00 PM to about 8:45 P.M. on Friday, May 21. Cloudy sky, temperature in mid 60's and dropping slightly. Water was up and just slightly off color, lost my thermometer so I couldn't get water temp. Caught 12 nice rainbows on the same fly, caddis emerger, #14 with tan body, rust colored wings and olive tail (shuck), all in fast water. Nothing was rising in any of the fast water. As I was leaving a saw a lone fisherman in the slower water and fish were rising all over to a sulfur hatch. Tied on a sulphur parachute #14 and cast to rising fish. Had one take and lost. I was casting madly as light was fading and hooked and landed a 14"+ rainbow that was very chunky, a real fighter. The lone fishermn and i walked out looking forward to another day. He said it was like that for quite awhile before I headed down.
