For you morning fishermen, #16 Dun Caddis at 9AM and still a few straggling #18 Green Caddis. Most of them are popping off before getting to the slower pools.
The flat water has quite a few sippers taking the most prevalent mayfly spinner or crane fly for the day. Today it was P. Mollis. Even though there were plenty of those #24 olive ephemerella duns on the water, very few were being taken. I'm sure the fish will be on them by the weekend.
As a bonus, I caught three wild brown trout in the 6 inch range and one 8 inch brooky. All near a small feeder. They must have heard about the great hatches, too.
So, most of the smaller fish are taking the bigger flies and the bigger fish are taking the tiny flies.
