Fished Oil Creek from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, cloudy and cool, no fisherman the entire evening in the upper park. Fish rising the entire evening. Nice variety of hatches, BWO spinner (#20), Caddis 9(tan #16), Sulphur emergers and dry flies (#14 & #16). Partner and I each caught a dozen or more 12" - 15" and lost the same or more.

Great evening fishing, fish were fat and healthy, water was clear and low. Nice night.

Ronnie,

I'll be up that way in a few weeks, I appreciate the report. I understand yinz guys need some rain.

I've yet to fish Oil, want to this year. Let me know when you'll be there and maybe we can meet up.

ryguy,

Right now the plan is to drive up the evening of Tuesday, June 9, and stay till Sunday, June 14th. Thus the 10th-13th are fishing days. I'll be with one coworker, and my dad may or may not join for a day or so.

Lots of places in mind to fish, but I don't think we're going to set in stone where on which days, weather and stream conditions will play a role. I'll get you my cell phone # before we leave.

Bring your caddis. I have fished Drake Well a few times and it gets a decent tan caddis hatch. Been fairly successful up in the riffles. Riffles, caddis, successful? Maybe it is just a nice setup for my sloppy slap cast!

dasofas,

Oil will probably get a visit, and I know the stream pretty well. But Oil will not be the focus of the trip. On many of the streams we'll hit I suspect the parachute Adams hatch will be spectacular.

Ronnie:

Welcome to the board. I fished oil last sat evening. Water temp was a little on the high side. Your bug report is right on. I think the pressure is off the fish a bit. I saw one other guy fishing on a Sat during a holiday weekend.
