Having been laid up since having surgery in late September, I finally felt up to trying to fish again - for the first time in almost 2 months.
Needed to go someplace easily accessible, and with some facilities handy. Going to the main park area here made a lot of sense for me right now.

Started fishing around 1:30, under cool overcast skies. Water temp was 50 degrees.
I soon noticed just a smattering of BWO's coming down, with an occasional rise here and there.
And managed to catch a few on olives 🙂in the afternoon

Later on toward evening, the surface activity picked up.
To what, I'm not sure. All I saw were some midges. But had a hard time getting any rises to them
I finally noticed a few caddis here and there during the last hour or so of daylight.
And switched to a #18 gray fluttering caddis.
That did the trick, landing a half dozen or so on that right up until it got too dark to see the fly.

Everything I caught were freshly stocked rainbows of nice size - averaging 14 to 15 inches.
With the dry hot summer we just had, very unlikely that anything held over.

I also should add that the bridge in the park is closed, and blocked off. You can't even walk out on it now.
I normally go up the west side of the creek, and drive over that bridge to get into the main parking area
Had to detour around from Rousevile on 227, and go through Plumer to enter from the other side of the creek.
Probably gonna be like that for awhile, as I'm sure that bridge will have to be demolished

THat bridge being closed is a huge pain. Giant drive around to get to the other side.

For sure.
I was told by another fisherman during my visit there, that it's going to be a long time before it's replaced.
FWIW.

Have you fished there lately?
With the extended warm weather we had, just wondering if any of those nice bows were still rising
