Fished from about 4 til sunset. Very little bug activity. Creek down to what I call dry fly level (300 cfs) Nymphed a sz. 14 sulfur nymph through the heavy water at the head of the ice control dam flats. Caught several smallish rainbows in 2-3 ft depths. Saw 3 small sulfurs hatch. Nothing else happening. Played around Blook Farm and caught 2 more.
Anytime the sulfurs could intensify.

I fished the early; 7:00 till 10:30 AM shift looking for a caddis hatch that never materialized. Caught a half dozen between 15" and 19" on a big march brown nymph. The larger fish were active and all takes were at the end of the drift.
Midges at 8:30 but only saw 2 tan caddis fly by.
Managed two small brownies midging on the far shoreline.
I was half-tempted to try the evening but after seeing your report, I'm glad I stayed home.

Evening of May 20th: water still in good shape. Rising activity around 8 PM and later. Just a few sulfurs seen coming off, but the fish were rising to emergent nymphs. They were eating well, though. For the few and sporadic rising, they took my fly unusually well.
