oil creek, venango co(I think?) 4/16/10

had to make a run to a lumber mill, so I threw a rod in the van, picked up the wood, stopped by oil creek outfitters( nice shop, nice owner!) and caught the grannoms before the rains came. fished the upper spec reg area. caught 2, a brown going about 18 inches, a rainbow about 12. lots of fish raising, caught them both on the surface, then the fish seemed to key on emergers, I missed a couple. then the rain started and the stream seemed to shut off like a light switch. don't know if the hatch started up again later.
all in all, not bad for an hour on the water!

oil creek fished pretty decent today considering the foul weather and cold front that moved in , fish wanted grannom emergers , and wet flys in the faster water , color and flows are a little on the weak side right now , a bit more rain would be nice but not too much
