Time Fished: 430pm - 7pm

Weather Conditions: 61 degrees and cloudy, felt like it would rain any minute but it held off

Water Conditions: 56 degrees, decreasing cfs of 590 (median for this date is 452); Water still stained

Insects: Caddis (the ones I caught were grannoms but some looked tan in flight) were always around but in very low numbers for grannoms; there were a handful of mayflies

I stopped to fish Oil yesterday but it took a shot of rain up North and was running very dirty and was also too high to fish. So I had to go elsewhere.

Today, I fished upstream of Petroleum Center and unfortunately I had some terrible luck that me tying on flies and leader for what seemed like half of my fishing time.

I had about 8 strikes and caught 2 rainbows on wooly buggers. I struck out on Black Stonefly nymphs and Caddis pupa, which I found very surprising. I expected Caddis to produce.

Thanks for the report on Oil Creek. It looks like most of the streams in the rest of PA got whacked today 🙁
