Overcast day, about 60 degrees. I got to Oil Creek about 930am. Water temp was 49. Grannoms were hatching all morning in their typical style...heavy for awhile then taper off only to go heavy again. No surface activity and really no activity of any kind.
The hole I fished was a decent hike and it had 5 minnow fisherman who had been there since 8am. A fly fisherman and a spin fisher joined us later. All told, when I left at 11am, no one else was there, 8 people had fished and only 1 fish had been caught.
I imagine the low water temp meant the fish didn't need to eat very much and they probably sucked in enough of the abundant grannoms (subsurface) and laid back on the bottom to digest. In that section there are lots of fish left.
