Took the kayaks out saterday night because we finally got a break in the weather. The water was gin clear, slight breeze but no serious chop. We were hoping to dredge up a few cold and sluggish under slot stripers on clousers and fast sinking line. I wasn’t expecting much, thought we would possibly get skunked with 43 degree water but I was pleasantly surprised to find busting fish to cast to and catch on the strip! I ended up with forty fish from 18 to 26 inches. My buddy got 34. All were fat and spitting up silversides. I have never seen that much bait in the middle/end of winter. I got to try out my new 6wt fiberglass rod. Love the action, literally can feel every single head shake on the glass rod.
