Weather) partly sunny with slight breeze highs in middle 40s

Water). Clear visibility. Water temp 41. Gauge at Bloomsburg 2.2

Thought I would take advantage of the nice day and lower water level. I waded out to one of the larger Islands and fished the slack water and Eddy's. I used a sink tip line with a short leader and a size 2 gray over white clouser minnow. I kept my retrieve low and slow. My first fished bit very soft I actually thought I might have hooked a twig but then it started to shake it's head ended up being a nice 15" smallie. I then caught two nice pike around 22". My last smallie actually smacked the streamer about as hard as a nice summer day it was a fat heavy 17" fish. If you can the next few days look good for some extended season river bass fishing. The action won't be fast but each fish caught will raise your body temperature enough to keep you going. As always remember the long underwear.

Very well done report. Thanks for the reminder that the river bass season isn't over. Also, neat to hear about the pike. Some of our regulars who fish the North Branch post a pike catch from time to time, but it isn't common.

What was the date and county where you fished (so I can add this to the subject line)?
Thanks,
DW
