Yes it's the closest river that fishes well all year.

The other day before the hot spell was the best caddis and sulphur hatch that I've fished in 3 years. The last couple of years it's been a90% nymphing game.

Try big streamers. Or rapalas with the spinning rod when the water is iff color or in oct i was your opposite 90pct of time i was throwin big spinning or streamers. .also fish the lower parts. Im talking below collinsville dam to avon in fall or when waters are cooler .. i dont get as many total fish as most euro nymphing guys but i get a decent amount of big browns holdover and wilds....also big stocked bows also...those are stockers of course...i dont fish upstream of the wall in the ffo water...too many fishing it...besides i think most of the fish from hogsback to the ffo area have been caught so many times and released it gets kinda boring.. i like getting fish that havent been violated by all the guides and there clients...why i fish less popular spots DOWNSTREAM... just my style. Not everybodys on that river...but to each is own
