Been fly fishing a little over a year and a half, i have really grown to love the sport and am always trying to improve!
I tie most of my own flies and mainly fish for trout but am trying to get into steelhead and musky fly fishing aswell. Just bought a clearwater 8wt 10’ and am itching to get on some erie steel!

Take that 8wt down to the Allegheny.

Welcome, from the burgh. I agree, take the 8 weight to the gheny and cast streamers deep for walleye, big flies for musky, and summertime topwater for bass.

Welcome to PAFF. I have two Orvis Clearwater 10’ 8 weights - primarily purchased as back up rods for trips to AK over the years. I have caught Pacific Salmon, Stripers, Smallies and some pretty big carp on both of them. The Clearwater is a pretty solid rod. I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to tackle a Musky with an 8 weight outfit. Good luck!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome from Cumberland County! We are known for a few wild Browns in a few of our creeks but Smallmouth are a very “reel” thing too!
