New guy from Ohio

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but have been lurking a bit. My name is Ron and I live in Massillon Ohio ( near Canton) and love to fish. Any way, Any where Any type. I have recently been bitten AGAIN by the fly fishing bug. Haven't done much of it since my dad passed away 15 years ago but thats what he absolutely loved.
He grew up in the Crabtree area and most of the family fly fished and probably still do.
Well like everything I do i go in head first so please be patient with my many questions and inquiries .

Welcome. I am originally from Stark County, Ohio too. I grew up in North Canton and now live in Maryland outside Baltimore. I was never into fly fishing back home, but I would like to fish the Lake Erie tribs for smallmouth sometime when we are back to visit family. My in-laws live in Bath and we usually hike in and around the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, so I’ve wanted to try my luck fishing the Cuyahoga.

Heck ya that's not far from me. Ive never tried Cuyahoga valley but I'm sure it's great smallmouth fishing

Thanks, I don't have a lot of PA DNA in me.
My dad was born in PA and lived there until he was 17 so I'm practically a resident!

I'm Canton-born as well. I grew up in the West Manor neighborhood, not at all far from Massillon. I spent most of my life in PA & NY (where I am now), though. I've never fly fished Ohio, as I don't make it back much. I've always had in the back of my mind that, if I ever go visit family, I'd try to do some steelheading.

Welcome. I grew up in NEO and fished a lot in the CVNP before it was a NP. Spent a lot of time at Kendall lake messing with bass and bluegill before they drained it and rebuilt it.

I'm up near Kent/Ravenna. Welcome! I have a buddy that was from Navarre who spent a lot of time on sugar creek for smallies.
