Stopped in to chat with Bob for a few minutes and then fished behind the shop from about 10am to 3pm Grannoms were coming off and the fish were noticing. I couldn't buy a top water strike though. Fished wets, dries and emergers and no dice. Did land a good handful on a caddis larvae pattern under though. Lots of big fish in the creek. Landed 3 pushing 20" and lost 3 others. I would expect the grannoms to be around in lesser and lesser numbers for another 2-3 days max.

I never fish the project instead I favor the open water on the Neshannock. However I never see a consistently rising fish there. Not sure if that’s due to the low number of Browns or if the hatches just aren’t heavy enough anymore. I’m referring to when water temp gets warmer than it is now.

However congrats on your day. Your trip north was worthwhile.
