Neshannock Creek, Lawrence County and Cool Spring Creek Mercer County 10/13/12

I'm debating whether or not I want to do neshannock/cool spring or if I want to do steelhead tomorrow....I went after work today to Elk Creek...didn't catch any steel but there were plenty about and saw some guys on spin reel catch a few..HUGE fish....I'm just unsure if I want to make the trip...if that is where you plan on being streamerguy PM me on here and I can meet you there..it would be nice to fish/ spit the **** with a fellow board member

deciding to stay local and fish neshannock and cool spring....if anyone is around definitely come out and join me...again I will be wearing my white cowboy hat and brown cabela's waders...hope to cyas there...heading there now (6:55am) till about 2...then over to cool spring

My brother wants to fish the Shenango today instead, in search of my first fly caught toothy critter but I''ll also have the spinning gear as back up. I'm definitely steelheading the next two weekends though. Have fun at Neshannock.

Tomarrow I'm heading up to the families camp for yard work and stuff and Cool Spring is on the way so I might hit that tomorrow on the way home..

nice....ill most likely hit up cool spring tomorrow as well...had to cut today short at 11:30...relatives of my fiance were randomly in town so I had to help play house guest...oh well...I did get to meet chrism80 (aka chris) while at neshannock...it was really slow today...had 3 while down there and a 4th that has my fly in its mouth...bastard....

Was nice to meet you pat . lucky for me it didn't stay real slow after you had left. i managed to bring three to net. also found a constant snag that only claimed two flies lol.

Glad you guys could meet up and catch some fish! We got a small pike, 2 white bass, and a carp at Shenango. Since we had time we decided to head over to Cool Spring and I thought we'd run into you there but we didn't. I got 4, 1 on a streamer and the rest on caddis nymphs. They were super spooky, and I still can't get those dang perch to hit anything no matter how hard I try! I've caught a few in Neshannock before, but they're picky there also.

nice streamerguy.....my indecisive mind might go to shenango myself tomorrow instead of cool spring....my fiance wants me to bring some rainbows home and I agree...so I might try my luck there

told you I was indecisive....might make the trek to Erie for some chrome now that I know my rod will do fine....looking for anyone who wants to join...ill be checking the site periodically before I go....I'll most likely be heading up before noon....being new to steelhead it would be nice to have some teammates...that and a bigger net :b....so if anyone is interested either post on here or PM me

Is the water still crazy low up that way? Haven't been watching the radar to the north.

I was there on friday stal42...yes the water was low but there were plenty of steelheads...didn't catch any but saw a few guys get some....I actually ended up going to shenango in sharpsville today....didn't get a damn thing as far as rainbows go...got 2 crappies...I've never fished for trout in the shenango before so maybe I was just in the wrong spots...there was only one other guy using fly who I asked if he caught any rainbows...he only had one for the day but said a friend of his had 9 last week?!...where though he didn't know...I tried all the pools and besides the crappies I had absolutely nothing :/ oh well...next time

All the info on the Steelhead JAM can be found in the link.

I did a meetup at the Neshannock in the Spring of 2011. I may try to organize another one this coming spring. Hopefully over the grannoms.
