My brother and I fished Neshannock yesterday pretty much all day and today until lunch time. Yesterday morning was pretty slow and I only got one and lost one other in the first couple hours I was fishing. The ice on the guides wasn't helping at all. Once my brother joined me around 10 or so he caught like 3 in the first half hour he was there! We caught a couple more after that. He still ended up outfishing me though.
Today was warmer and we started getting into fish right away but then it slowed down as more people came. Every likely holding area was getting pounded so I'm not surprised the fishing slowed. Both days we mainly fished from the shop down to the big rock and caught a few fish throughout and then also lost another down by the covered bridge. I noticed a bunch of little black stoneflies but that usually means nothing on that stream from my experiences.
The fishing wasn't spectacular by any means, and the crowds were horrible as expected, but it felt good to get out and the weather was beautiful. Went from having a lot of ice buildup to fishing without a coat or even a hoodie in the afternoon. Also saw a massive carp caught, spotted two small pike that weren't interested in my flies, and also got to meet a board memeber(fishingnoob) and could have spoken to others without knowing. Overall it was a great weekend, except for not winning the rod raffle at the shop lol.
