Nice day on the water today. Showed up around 11:45 and fished till 2:30. Grannoms are in full force. Every year I fish this hatch it seems that the time from 11-1 is the sweet spot for all the risers. I fished a nice set of riffles behind the shop and did quite well. About a 50/50 split of takes from a dead drift, and a downstream swung and skittered elk hair caddis. Never took off the dry. Brown/black body, black hackle, natural elk hair. Probably had 20 takes from trout, landed just 4. Lots of missed strikes due to downstream presentation, but it was still fun. Landed quite a few chubs. Tough to keep those things off in this stream. The grannoms will be fishable for maybe 2-3 more days IMO. So go now!
