Neshannock Creek, Lawrence County, 10-6-12

Fished Neshannock for about 3 hours this morning. I caught 9 rainbows and my brother caught 2, and I even got a little bass and a couple chubs. We fished by the shop the whole time and did well with brown and white conehead buggers and pink glo bugs. The chubs ate the eggs aggressively, and there were a handful of chubs and suckers following some of the trout probably feeding on the eggs(one of the fish I caught was releasing eggs). The water is very low, but that made us able to see most of the fish hit our flies which was cool.

Rainbow spawn starting in March. Browns start in October.

Yes, that is correct, but it is known that the PA hatchery fish are a messed up with and attempt to spawn in the fall...

I take it that these are recently stocked fish.
When I was there in Sept. there were no trout to be found.

They were stocked on Tuesday I think. Neshannock usually holds over some fish, but this summer was a rough one and I'm not sure if any made it.
