Time Fished: 800am - 930am
Weather Conditions: 73 Sunny
Water Conditions: 64 degrees, low & clear
Insects: I saw several stoneflies in the air. Same ones from my report last Sunday. In the spider webs the most abundant fly was a very small BWO and a typical sulfer. The BWO was 15:1 over the sulfer.
I fished far downstream of DHALO. I swung a woolly bugger and a Royal coachman wet. I caught a rainbow on the coachmen and a smallmouth. Lost one rainbow. The hole was basically dead compared to last week. I’m thinking a combination of warmer water plus being low & clear. The large palomino was not in the hole. So I took that as a sign that last weeks hot days pushed the trout out. I tried the riffles thinking the fish might have made a short relocation, but I never had a strike there. Might be about done.
