Time Fished: 6am - 915am
Weather Conditions: Clear, 63 degrees
Water Conditions: 66 degrees, slightly off color, flowing a little heavier than normal for this time of year
Insects: Virtually none. Saw 1 crane fly and 1 caddis
I fished an open water section that doesn’t get sunlight on the water until 930am. I usually catch most of the fish here on my first pass, especially this time of year. However today I had to chip away. I even tried higher up in the riffle thinking they may have moved up to get more oxygen but I never had a strike there. The fish were in the hole where they always are, they just weren’t real aggressive.
Swung 3 wets and caught 4 rainbows and 2 browns.
Had herons fly over me 6 times. I think they wanted my spot when I was done.
