Caught word of the brown drakes on the shop site a few days prior and try to hit that spinnerfall every year. Got to the stream around 7pm. The water was REALLY low. I can't recall it being that low at this time of year. The fish were still there but seemed very hesitant due to the low water. Saw some risers around 8 but couldn't figure out what they were rising to. I guessed emergers due to the rises but never saw exactly what they were rising to. A few drakes, cream cahills and caddis came off. We saw the brown drake spinners but they never hit the water. Fished until 10pm and the 4 of us all caught the skunk. Pretty disappointing but my guess is the drakes will be in full force in another 2-3 days. Hope we get some rain by then too.
