Still plenty of caddis. Water conditions are still good but it's getting really clear. Rain is not unwelcome.

Today was much slower than Weds. Bugs came out about the same tiem but fish didn't respond well. Only a couple takes on caddis pupae. Had just as many hits on PT's and Copper Johns. One on a dry EHC. Some sporadic rises, but not in line with the numbers of caddis hatching and nothign like a couple days ago. Also, this was the first day I've seen those little cream/tan craneflies in good numbers. A few random mayflies around too but nothing to get excited over.

Got 5 and pricked or wiffed on maybe 3-4 others. Pretty slow given the conditions. Rain and wind chased away the sunshine around 2:30 so maybe the changing weather put down the fish today.

P.s. If you don't fish Copper Johns on Neshannock, start...

there were sporadic rises when flip n fly and ryan and i fished too but if u had a good drift and the right immitation it brought them off the bottom , they were looking up just feeding on emergers mostly but alot did sucumb to the dry that day too !!

TS,

See my previous report for Weds.

Friday was much different, very slow. On Weds. the fish were going nuts, especially in the morning. Not so much on Fri.

the saturday i was there , the grannoms were coming off but fish only rose from about 1:00 - 3:00 then it was sporadic risers , typical grannom hatch i guess were they prefer emergers (the easier meal ) all in all though fishing has been good lately for april !!!!

Were you all fishing the FFO section. If so does it get much pressure? Fished from Rt19 south on opening day and had a lot of fun. Tuff fly fishing with the opening day crowd.

It's Delayed harvest Artificials Only, not FFO. It depends on when and where you fish. If you fish on the weekends, all the good areas might have guys in them and the area behind the fly shop almost always has at least a small group of guys fishing. If you fish weekedays and go downstream more than a few hundred yeards, you will find a lot of stream to yourself and it all has fish.

Fished by the covered bridge today. 4/24/2010... A ton of fish present.

I caught a real nice rainbow and a monster fall fish. Didn't see anyone else catching anything. Slow day and the water is clear and on the decline. Hopefully we pick up some rain asap.

When I left there was a guy standing on the edge of the covered bridge (end of DHALO) doing some worm dunkin' couldn't say anything obviously. . . I saw him just about kill one fish, I think it made it though.
