Neshannock and Cool Spring Creeks, Lawrence & Mercer Ctys, 11/21/12

The weather was great so I just had to get out of the house and wet a line. My brother and I fished Neshannock for about an hour behind the shop and got one bow on a white bugger. There were a bunch of other guys out but I didn't see any other fish caught. One guy said he got two.

At Cool Spring I got into another rainbow, 2 decent sized chubs, and a yellow perch! I finally got one of those perch there to bite. It's was a small one, but a perch nontheless. I catch them all the time at other places I fish, but for some reason the ones at Cool Spring wouldn't touch a thing. All the fish caught on sz 14 caddis larvae.

I believe the trout that I caught today I also caught back in October right after the stream was stocked. The first pic is from Oct. 6, and the second is from today. I don't know, but those spots on the cheek and gill plate match up to me. Looks like she(eggs were being released) lost some weight though.

LOL! you always say that about the trout pix? I can't blame ya, I like the WW a bit better myself!

Haha yeah I agree. Plus those perch are wild and native ;-) Stupid pelletheads..

Very nice report. I'd rather catch the wild perch too, but those fresh stocker Bows can be pretty fun too. I agree that last one is the same fish...hopefully she puts some weight back on.

Some nice catches streamerguy....i myself went to the tully in berks county with a friend being home for turkey day...caught 5 between the 2 of us...all action happened right at sundown though...caught them on san juans and red lightning bug

Thanks. fishingnoob, I was there around midday, but I'm sure it might of gotten better closer to sundown once the water got to its warmest temp for the day. I don't know, the one at nesh. slammed my streamer and the one at cool spring chased down my nymph so they were pretty active. Glad you got into some fish also.

I'm guessing why the fish lost weight was because it switched to a normal stream diet and isn't plump any more from all the pellets. Fishing pressure and losing the eggs might of had something to do with it also. Other than that fish I saw maybe only one or two other trout left in that hole, so it doesn't have nearly as much competition for food anymore.
