Neshaminy Creek, Tyler Park, Bucks Cty, 5/18/2019

Due to some medical issues I haven't fished since last Labor Day. Having that under control I decided to get my gear back in order by fishing some more stocked waters.

Water was high and very stained but not muddy. I decided to throw streamers in the current seams below the bridge. Not sure the water temps but not very cold. My guess in 60. I was surprised there were no others fishing when I arrived about 8:00 AM. Landed three rainbows about 15" in an hour and a half. These came late and by that time a couple bait fishermen were working the bridge. They couldn't believe I released all three.

All the gear worked well and I had not forgotten anything except the reading glasses and stream thermometer.

Great to have some stocked waters nearby for a quick outing before water temps rise.

I took a peak at the Neshaminy right there by big brothers/big sisters on york rd one day last week when i was passing by. They stock it there and a nice lady i ran into told me it gets hit hard by spin fisherman but i was wondering if i couldnt pick a few myself like you did franklin. Way to go

There is a big hole along Valley Road (just upstream from the bridge) that holds stockies. On opening day it's surrounded by fishermen. Maybe 20 or 30 people at a time. That section has a lot of trash that can pierce wadeers. Best to go downstream from there. There is a new park downstream that I need to check out. You can find large Rapalas in the bushes with three sets of trebles. I guess the kids will grab anything in dad's tackle box and hit the stream. I've also collected a few 2 oz sinkers there. Stocked trout often get down to the bridge at Dark Hollow.


This section and the area in Tyler upstream of the dam are good for an evening of rock bass and smallies. Just wear rubber boots.

Does the new park butt up against either of the existing stocked trout sections?

New park is just downstream from upper stocked section near the tech school It's the horseshoe bend just above Dark Hollow Road. I believe years ago the stocked down to the Dark Hollow bridge. The park isn't developed.

Maybe an opportunity to extend the stocked area down to the bridge again?
